Job Description: The Assistant Principal will be responsible for the overall administration and leadership of the school. This includes developing and implementing educational programs, managing staff, and ensuring a safe and productive learning environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to student achievement, staff development, and community engagement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide instructional leadership and support to teachers and staff.
- Develop and implement school policies, programs and curriculum.
- Foster a positive school culture that promotes student engagement and success.
- Oversee the daily operations of the school, including budgeting and resource allocation.
- Collaborate with parents, community members and other stakeholders to support student learning and well-being.
- Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations and standards.
- Lead professional development initiatives for staff.
- Monitor and evaluate student performance and implement strategies for improvement.
Requirements
Qualifications:
Valid New York State Building Leader (SBL) certification.
Master’s degree in education or a related field.
Minimum of five years of teaching experience, with at least three years in a leadership role.
Strong understanding of middle school education and adolescent development.
Excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills.
Commitment to fostering a diverse and inclusive school environment.
