Anticipated Vacancy: Coordinator of Educational Resources (1.0)
GENERAL STATEMENT OF JOB: Under limited supervision, perform a variety of supervisory and administrative tasks in directing the staff development activities in Dutchess BOCES and its 13 component districts. Employee is responsible for assessing county wide staff development needs, setting specific goals, developing adult learning programs to meet specific needs, and evaluating the effectiveness of implemented programs. The Coordinator assists districts and schools with identifying existing internal and external development opportunities, and assists the Executive Director in developing strategic plans for the agency.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Full-time, 12-month, tenure track, district-level administrative assignment. Competitive salary; negotiable based on qualifications and experience. Full complement of health benefits

SUPERVISES: Support Staff, Virtual Learning Academy Teacher, other staff as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND COMPETENCIES: 1. NYS Certification as a School District Administrator (SDA), School District Leader (SDL), or School Administration & Supervision (SAS). 2. Master’s Degree in Education. 3. 5 to 7 years of experience teaching including program coordination. 4. 3 to 5 years of experience as an administrator strongly preferred. 5. Prior experience planning and delivering Professional Development required 6. Strong Knowledge of all elements of New York State's ESSA plan. 7. Strong written and verbal communication skills. 8. Strong technology skills. 9. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail are required.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: 1. Considerable knowledge of internal and external resources for adult learning. 2. Considerable knowledge of current literature, trends and developments in the field of adult learning. 3. Considerable knowledge of the principles of supervision, organization and administration. 4. Considerable knowledge of current NYSED initiatives, researched-based instructional strategies, curriculum development, and assessment. 5. Skills in supervising and coordinating large programs. 6. Ability to assess system-wide staff development needs. 7. Ability to develop, implement, facilitate, and evaluate adult learning programs. 8. Ability to maintain complete and accurate records and to develop meaningful reports from them. 9. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Conducts needs assessments to determine Professional Development needs for the agency, under the direction of the Director. a. facilitates the creation of specific staff development goals b. delivers system-wide Professional Development programs for all staff c. assesses impact on teacher practice and student outcomes 2. Assists with developing, implementing and evaluating curriculum and instruction in the agency; assists with the design of strategic plans for various programs. 3. Provides research-based guidance on the development of student-centered instructional models, rigorous and relevant curriculum and instructional practices to promote student engagement, and strategies for collaborative and date driven decision-making. 4. Coordinates initial implementation of various innovations within the system as designated by the Director of Educational Resources. 5. Participates in regularly scheduled agency and division meetings as required. 6. Oversees the maintenance of the online Professional Development system. 7. Facilitates the planning and tracking of Professional Development sessions, develops and communicates registration procedures, ensures facility availability and readiness, facilitates communication with session participants, and coordinates other elements involved with the planning and delivery of professional development activities. 8. Monitors and manages contract processes, purchase orders, and billing for professional development opportunities. 9. Oversees and coordinates activities associated with the Center for Educational Equity and Social Justice and the Center for Sustainability and Climate Change. 10. Oversees the Arts in Education and Enrichment Co-Sers and services including contracts, implementation of program, purchase orders, and billing. 11. Reviews and suggests new or updates previous Co-Sers to ensure opportunities for new programs and services for the region. 12. Works collaboratively to plan, design, and support or facilitate current of new programs and services for the region, including Summer Scholars, Regional Academic Summer School, and other programs. 13. Supports agency and countywide implementation, through consultation, coaching, and/or professional development, NYSED, regional, or agency or district specific initiatives. 14. Supervises BOCES Home Schooling service and the Virtual Learning Academy 15. Collaborates with and supports colleagues to implement programs and services, such as Regional Academic Summer School, Summer Bridge, and Summer Scholars. 16. Facilitate communication between personnel, staff, students, and/or parents for the purpose of evaluating situations, solving problems, and/or resolving conflicts. 17. Reads professional journals and research papers; attends seminars, conferences and workshops to continuously update professional knowledge.
EVALUATION: The Coordinator of Educational Resources’ performance will be evaluated annually by the Director of Educational Resources.
