Job description:
The Schenectady City School District is committed to the elimination of Race, Economics, and Disability as predictors of achievement. We seek a creative, innovative, and resourceful individual that has a vision for broadening our Fine Arts programming to be inclusive of all students and across all grade levels. Such a program is intended to incorporate the Common Core Learning Standards and provide multiple opportunities for all students in the district to learn and demonstrate skills and abilities in the areas of art and music. The successful candidate will provide staff leadership to ensure understanding and promotion of the educational mission of the district.

Job Requirements


Education, training, experience:
New York State certification as School District Leader or School District Administrator with a minimum of three years of administrative experience. Teacher Certification is required in art, music, theater or dance with a minimum of five successful years of teaching. Requirements include: Knowledge of NYS requirements; evaluation of instructional materials and programs; budget preparation; collaboration with community constituents to seek outside funding; scheduling; supervision and evaluation of staff. Preferred candidates will have taught in both elementary and secondary settings and have an active portfolio.
